How one chooses to decorate their living space is ultimately what distinguishes a house (or an apartment) from a home. I gravitate towards cohesive maximalism in my art, and my living space is the biggest canvas I've ever had access to. Putting together my "college apartment" was one of the most fulfilling experiences, as I feel it perfectly externalizes who I am. It is so important to me to make my home a place I never feel the need to escape from; which can be done sustainably and affordably, while also being true to who I am.
